The Deadline Approaches

I don't know about you reader but I have deadlines that are approaching. Like most deadlines, it is a specific date where, when you first learn of your deadline, it seems like a long time to go, but my god was I wrong.

If you have ever had deadlines, you probably feel the same about deadlines like I do. As days go by, it makes me feel worse if I don't do some sort of work day by day, and with multiple deadlines coming, its a horrible feeling if I don't do something towards getting work in on those deadlines. I sometimes feel alone in this epic battle against my work and my pleasures in the day, I feel that no one else knows the struggle, but I can imagine that there are a lot of people, including you, who know exactly.
By looking at social networking sites, seeing other friends on there stating that they are either going on holiday, or are just at home relaxing, or relaxing in the sun, this slightly frustrates me, in which I question:

Why do they get the relaxing time?
Why do they get to go on holiday and I don't?
Why do they not have to do any work?

Then I briefly remind myself that this is what I effectively want, not only do you get a huge step in developing yourself to be who you want to be in the future, but also what I do is an educational curve. As selfish as it sounds, I feel glad now that they go and do all of the relaxing and entertaining things. For me, and you, we get the satisfaction of being educated further into our chosen profession, and we can celebrate and relax gloriously after the work is done, which makes the relaxing time, all the more rewarding. This is what has been felt by me at this moment in time, If you have often felt similar, I hope any words in this has helped.

Making the most of the sun

What doesn't look very sunny in this picture. I tell you that it was indeed very sunny, and great weather. If you live in britain you will have probably noticed the good fortune of weather we have been having recently, in which by looking through social networks, everyone has gone out and made the most of it. As for me, I have effectively only been out once to enjoy the sun, the rest has me at home attempting to do work, or at work doing work.

22
This is how old I will be next week. I should hopefully be posting another blog by the time I will be at this age. Next week is going to be my entertaining week. For I have a lot of things planned now. Which Im sure you all know due to the recent post of lots of planning.  So far planned, is:

Im going home for 3 days, back to the North West.
During my time there I am to see my family, who I haven't seen since Chinese New Year.
I am being treated to a glorious chinese meal at the MEI MEI in Liverpool.
Im heading out to CHIBUKU, to see 2manydjs, and FELIX DA HOUSECAT.
I then return home, go to work on Saturday.
Sunday, celebrate with my birthday night out in Newcastle, go to DIGITAL, and see HARDWELL, THIRD PARTY, KIM FAI and KRYDER.

A rather entertaining week for me in all honesty. The excitement is almost unbearable, I almost feel like a  kid again.

The night out to CHIBUKU, was the most recent addition to the plans of next week. As soon as I found out about FELIX DA HOUSECAT playing in Liverpool, I immediately accepted that I was staying for another day in Liverpool. What makes this night out even better, is that I am also going to see someone whom I have not seen in 2+ years. Not a DJ, but a friend. Pete Bond, along with his fellow people will be heading to this night out. I have not seen him or his comrades for a long time because I used to work at Costco Chester, before heading onto my journey of University Life. This was where I last spoke to the chap.

My mission, for you!

Its all fair and well telling you about these places where I am going, because I have been there before, and I know what they are like and what they look like. My mission next week, is to get pictures for you so I can not only tell you, but SHOW you what I mean and where I have been.

I Planned This Out.

PLANNING

As Im sure you are aware from the previous post, Im currently and STILL at the stage of planning out future events and there is a lot of work that has placed itself around me. When it comes to relaxation, and time out's, they seem to be un-heard of for me. There's a lot on my plate at this moment in time. I imagine the planning and the workload to be visually represented as one of my mother's O'so delicious enormous roast dinners. Apart from the work and planning is not as tasty. However I will feel very accomplished once the plans are planned, and the work is completed.
This is the stage where I almost don't know where to start. I'll think of something to do after I come home from work, and by work I mean Costco work, or lectures, and I walk into my house, turn left towards the stairs, turn around and head up the stairs, turn left again, and again right away into my bedroom, where I look at my computer and then it happens..... I forget what I was going to do, OR, I spot something else in my room that gets my attention, after that I then stare at my computer and begin scanning through my head of what must be done. Either continue planning events, or carry on work.... Where to start.

Why so much planning?

Well reader, it is my birthday coming up soon, and so there is a night out planned by moi. A night out where I shall be taking myself and so far the following:

Kenneth Barnett, of Ellesmere Port (But post coded as Chester)
Dave Collins, of Ellesmere Port
Dr Alex Thornthwaite, of Helsinki
Seon Kwak, of Seoul

Now when you decide to go out, theres one question I must ask you, where do you go? or where can you go?

For me, I have been to quite a few places around England, however not enough. I have been fortunate enough to experience key places of clubbing kingdoms. There is one place I have been to, where none of the people on the list have been (I think). This is Newcastle.  This is currently what the main plan is at the moment. Planning the accommodation, which is complete, train fares, event tickets etc. Planning for your own birthday by yourself is tough. You plan everything, you don't get much help, you have to pester people that you want to go, people say they want to go, but then they change their mind nearer the time, people have their reasons valid or not, you want to book accommodation and transport as soon as possible because they are getting full and unavailable and people are changing their minds or can't decide so you can't proceed; and all I want out of it, is just for my fellow comrades to experience what I experienced when I was there, and to just celebrate my birth, but it doesn't seem to be so easy, for those who plan things like this all the time I salute you, those who never plan for any events, you have no idea how stressful it can be sometimes.

Assignments?

Lots of assignments in fact. As stated up there, I have a lot on my plate, here's what I got:

A 4,000 Media Research Project
A 2,000 Media Ethics Assignment
To Produce a 10 minute teleshopping programme
Create a website
1,000 word Critical Analysis
1,000 word evaluation
Re-edit a 30 minute radio programme

Im pretty sure I have covered all of it. I would like to announce that I have started the pile of work, but alas I have not got very far.

Planning?
Lots of planning in fact. A wise man once told me:

"Dance music man... clubbing... its such an expensive hobby, but so good."

Dave Collins
When I meant wise, I define wise for his computer knowledge. I shall be waiting for a response from the man himself after he has read this. whatever he says I shall quote it and post it on the next post. I have a lot of planning, as I am planning to go to good looking future events, this is being planned:

Digital-Newcastle Birthday Trip
Above & Beyond UK Tour (at Liverpool)
Godskitchen sixfivetwelve
Holiday abroad for me and Abigail
Global Gathering 2012
Creamfields 2012 OR SW4

A lot of planning on the plate, but all of it shall be so good. If any of you readers are heading to one of the above events.... even the holiday with me and Abigail (somehow) let us know!

CREAM 3RD OF MARCH

I know this was a while ago, however this was one of the reports that I did not publish in one of the two previous posts. What made this night more interesting was the addition of some first timers of cream. To join me, Dave Collins and Alex Thornthwaite, was my two dear University comrades known as Lewis Carter and Nathan Rodger. What to tell first timers, about what Nation is like (the nightclub where it's held) my best efforts was this:

"Drinks are expensive, the rooms are massive... basically everything is amazing apart from the place itself, grotty as hell."

There you go, that was my best efforts in describing Cream to you, for those that have never been. I would strongly recommend going to a Cream night, as a dance music lover, you must witness what Cream has to offer. Which is, in my opinion, an insight as to what to expect at Creamfields, just this time, its in a nightclub, not a festival (except the mud).

My personal Evaluation.
It ended out to be a successful trip for all of us. The drive up wasn't bad. The weather was okay. We got to Liverpool pretty early which meant we could go about in the city. We even had time to go eat sushi at YO! sushi in Liverpool One. As you can see from the picture, this was the result of the amount of chopsticks that was needed to feed me, Lewis Carter and Nathan Rodger. Mine were the bottom chopsticks, Nathan's was the middle, and finally Lewis' had to use the most.

Amazon?
Yup Amazon could possibily be getting onto the Weekly Changy. I often 'window' shop on Amazon, looking at the stuff I want to purchase, but I either can't or I shouldn't because I am saving my money to attend all of the future events above. If you are like me, or not, and you buy from amazon all the time, Amazon will become more easier to access whilst you read the Weekly Changy! so get in there son!

The Fall Of Winter, The Awakening Of Spring.

Every day when I go to work in the early morning, it is always dark. Im heading out in the night, which I don't really like to be honest. Knowing that the majority of people are asleep when Im heading out to work, in the dark is never a nice feeling. However, I always feel better when going to work, when its spring or summer, for one reason, to witness dawn. Sometimes dawn can make any bad day look beautifully good, and I get the feeling as if the sun is putting on a private show for me and the rest of the people that have to go to work so early in the morning.

A picture? YES!
This was the other feature that I forgot to mention whilst listing all the updates to the Weekly Changy. A picture will now be implemented on all Weekly Changy blogs!

THIS WEEK

Once again, this week has been as busy as ever. I guess thats one thing that will never change... not being busy through a university semester. I have found myself recently dong a lot of planning. Lots and lots and lots of planning, planning that is work related and socially related. We all need to plan ahead, for when the time comes, we will be ready, and thats what I have been doing, a lot of planning. The work related planning is the planning of my Television Production's group to produce an 'as live' 10 minute DIY teleshopping programme. Believe me reader, what you watch on TV, has a lot of planning than you can ever imagine. To plan this, is to do a lot planning. Just typing about this has reminded me, have I mentioned the group that I am in? ... You do? ...... You dont? ....... Well come on now make your mind up! ..... okay Im going to tell you anyway. My Television Production group consists of: James Dye, Kenneth Barnett, James Chew, Lewis Carter, Abigail Armstrong, Patricia Costache and myself. Some names here may seem familiar to you, I know, we all know Kenneth, the chap whom has been mentioned numerous times in my posts. James Chew, you remember him right? he was in my Radio Production group too, and Abigail Armstrong, whom is like a celebrity on this blog, you remember? she's a robot pirate of course you remember her.
So we're all at this stage where we are on the brink of practical work, because of a lot of planning. This part of programme making always is a joy for me, to go out and do the filming. Its like your parents telling you, you can go outside and play because you've done all of your homework. A joyful feeling.

FESTIVAL TALK GOING ON

The planning for social and entertainment is planning for this years upcoming festivals. For me though, the festivals with the best dance music lineup is the festival for me, just like a good other million people. In my festival history I was there at Creamfields 2010, which was my first festival. Brilliant, amazing lineups and loads of them, and good weather. Then there was Global Gathering 2011. Unbelievable. lineup was great, a lot of trance artists, and best of all, artists that, at the time, I had never heard of I.E Zedd. The weather was like being in spain, which did me a lot of good considering I never got to go on holiday last year, however I don't think it did Dave Collins any good since he returned pink. The most recent was Creamfields 2011. Not Great. Creamfields 2011 showed me the bad side to the festival. 50,000+ people there, we arrived a day late, the weather was the worst I have ever seen it in britain, to date. The mud was also so bad that Dave Collins got stuck ordering a drink and had to be pulled out by two guys, and there also various YouTube videos of very drunk people swimming in it. Theres a lot more events that occurred at that festival however I shall save my fingers the duty of explaining. However if you email the Weekly Changy via Gmail, I will be happy to tell the tale!

So whats planned?

Well still planning at the moment. One thing is certain though. I will be returning to Global Gathering again this year. I have already accepted that It probably wont be as good as I remember it, but I have good expectations for the festival. As always, my rave wizard, Dave Collins will be going too, but this year there are more people that I know that are interested in going which is delightful. I have a slot of time off in august primarily for a festival. However Im in a tug of war with myself. Its either, Creamfields 2012, or South West Four. Which on should I go for? and which festival are you heading to this year? Get in touch!

KONY 2012

You dont know? if you manage to get onto this webpage and not notice this going on, then I would be surprised. If you havent watched the main viral video that everyone seems to be watching at the moment, I would suggest you do, to be in the know.
My honest opinion on this matter is that his crimes are without doubt dreadful and disgusting. Whilst finding out what he has done over the years kept making me think of my Media Ethics lecture. Tony Delahunty, my lecturer, once said that you will encounter people in your life who's ethics are constructed completely differently to yours, in a way that those ethics cannot be understood. My thoughts are if Joseph Kony believes that what he is doing is wrong. We may look upon him with shame, disgust and disgrace to what he has done, however Kony has been doing this since 1982, and before and after, his ethics are built up completely differently to ours.

The main segment of the information I got about Kony that puzzles me the most, is that he is number 1 on the ICC list. For reference, Muammar Gaddafi was number 24 and we all know what happened to him. What puzzles me is that if he is number 1 on the list, surely he is of a big priority to stop, so why havent they done it already? and why have they had to setup a charity and branding to stop him?

Ill leave you with that, I think

Hello Weekly Changy My Old Friend, I've Come To Talk With You Again...

Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain,
Still remains, within the sound of silence

(Simon & Garfunkel: 'Hello Darkness My Old Friend' justsomelyrics.com)

Before I even start, I would like to bid you all a fine hello, because it has been a while since my last post. From the previous post, to now is a big shift in time to be honest. A lot has been accomplished in the past days, so much so that you could fit all of the events into a film.... a very long one!

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT, FOR WEEKLY CHANGY.
Well I hope it is anyway, after a very inspiring lecture recently in my New Media Production lecture, there are to be some updates done for the weekly changy. First of all some elements on the page are to be removed and some other is to be added and changed:

New look!
The blue number thing that I had was pretty cool for me, but its time for a new look, and so I hope you like the new look, if you don't then email me on your views, they are very much appreciated, I will enjoy reading your emails, as much as I enjoy eating pancakes.... which is very enjoyable.

Weekly Changy... on GMAIL!
Yes, this is for you, it's all fair and well having a comment box, but now if you have any questions, opinons, or wish to simply troll then send an email! at: weeklychangy@gmail.com

Sell my soul? Hell Yeah!
Adverts will be added soon. What can I say Im a student! as annoying adverts can be, they can sometimes be helpful in finding what you want, honest. Further more you, my dear reader will be helping me out here, which will make me appreciate you all a lot more!

"So what the fuuu have you been up to all this time?"

Well to start with my work at Costco, I have continued with early morning shifts that getting a tad used to now, morning shifts that, when your Television Production lecturer comments on my shifts with comments such as "Gosh, thats...... not like a student." Very true Michael Dyer, by the way reader, if you ever get to meet Michael Dyer, I would suggest approaching him and say: "Studio 60, is a poor representation of studio work, and is the worst example to show students, and should never be watched when in a lecture" and then watch as he quickly begins defending it. Going back to work at Costco, since I got completely side-tracked there. I have been, amazingly, turning up for work, early in the morning, doing the work needed, and then going home, and I have been doing that astonishing routine since the previous post, and so far have not stopped, same in same out, nothing to report to you, captain.

During that exciting routine of Costco work, there can be a lot said about University work. The end.

Ha! Couldn't help myself there, well I would like to announce to you that I completed, and handed in the New Media Production Minor Assignment of 1,500 words, as well as the Media Ethics Minor Assignment of originally 1,500 words but really it was changed to 1,000 but really the lecturer wanted 1,200 but really I did 1,320 so I'll let you decide how many words was needed. So if you've been wondering why I havent posted in a long time, that is why. To continue University work, I have been continuing my Television Production work. What started as I can best describe as a:

'Vertical Un-advanced crushed cellular dramatic horizontal binding black cosmos microwave'

Which describes that it started badly. Now though, there is a snippet of progress through all of the disagreements and arguments. We have a script in progress, as well as a completed plan of set design and have had various practice runs in the studio. However, at this stage, I think this is not enough, the only set back for us is having to stop everything, and watch TV would you believe. What some may think as a glorious activity to have in a lecture, is not the best activity when your trying to work to a deadline.
